Carli was born and raised in Stockton, CA. Carli has always been a passionate Stocktonian, getting involved in local advocacy and political organizing before the end of high school. There, she was introduced to what would be her driving force, the concept that motivated her personal and professional development - health equity.

The early recognition for the issues present across the public health system encouraged Carli to get involved in many ways. She has been a longtime supporter of local health efforts. Starting in 8th grade, when she volunteered as activities assistant at a home for folks with dementia to 2020, where she worked on the frontlines as a COVID 19 screener. Carli has been driven by her motivation to support and care for her community. After graduating from Sonoma State University with a Sociology degree, Carli worked as a nursing assistant at a long-term care facility in Stockton. This motivated her to pursue her Master’s in Public Health from UC Berkeley with a concentration in health policy, to address the gaps policy creates in public health care.

During her Master’s program, Carli worked on several community based projects where she honed an understanding of how policy implementation affects health care in areas across California. After graduating from Berkeley in 2022, Carli took these skills to the Yes on Prop 1 campaign, where she served as the Deputy Campaign Manager and supported the team in enshrining reproductive freedom in the state constitution. This invaluable campaign experience supported Carli in her next role, on the Government Relations team at the California Medical Association. In this role, Carli supported physicians across California to engage in grassroots advocacy and assisted the CMA team in the development of practices to continue those advocacy efforts.

Most recently, Carli worked as a consultant and lobbyist for a Sacramento-based, boutique firm that manages local and statewide health projects for community based and corporate clients. Carli also supported work in legislative projects related to AI, social media, and clean energy. Carli is proud to join the CCCBHA team to continue strong efforts to drive policy change across the state. As a long time mental health advocate and supporter, she is excited to serve as a resource and ally to essential mental health providers across California.

Carli lives in Sacramento with her partner. In her free time, she loves to paint, spend time in her garden, or visit a California campground.
